Dan and I have spoken about ideas for it for about 5 years so a long wait. It is an environment and I am just about as excited for it as for Treebeard - well nearly. So yeah, as you all remember how excited I was for that SDCC reveal, I was in on that one.Īnd……… much the same as with Thranduil on Throne for my next ‘Dont stop talking about it till they make it’ project. They decided to make it larger and hit the true 1/6 size. When they first made it, it was a few inches shorter than the final product. You really have to listen carefully when he gets on a roll cause there is always little hints dropped accidentally or perhaps he just loves to see the curious looks on people’s faces as they try to work out what the underlying meaning is.Īnyway, thankfully we got our Treebeard everyone. His comment “you might not regret that in a couple of years anyway”. I didn’t want to risk damaging it so left it at home. But when I went to bring it I remembered how the bust doesn’t separate from the base. A few years ago when he spoke about Treebeard, I mentioned how I was going to bring the bust for him to sign. Last time I was there he gave me a pencil drawing of an Ent wife. So nice of him and he is the ultimate gentleman. If he asks what I’d like him to draw beside his sig - I always say an Ent. I have numerous books that Dan has signed and a signed poster he sent me for xmas once with an ent drawn on it. Anyway… I love love love the guard and the antlers on that throne have got to be seen to be believed.Īs for Treebeard - Dan knows I love Ents. I was invited over to give an opinion on it when they had a prototype and I regret not going now. But I can’t claim anything on the design or the size. I continued to push it after they released Thror on Throne. Yes I was responsible for Thranduil on Throne. They also like to hear my ideas and ‘pick my old timer collector brain’. Yes, we have had a few dinners and they do love my enthusiasm for their ideas. You may all be crediting me with a bit too much influence with the Weta boys. But overall, a fair place to buy collectibles, even if it’s easier to buy them from other outlets than TNC’s own website.Lol. Repair/customer service options are also very limited for discontinued items you might own, which is frustrating as natural wear and tear occurs over time. What I wish most is that they’d bring back collectibles from their back-catalogue, or offer them on special order they used to have some very impressive pieces which I wish I had another chance to pick up. ![]() Even so, it does not feel secure to give credit card details over the phone in the present day. There isn’t much international flexibility if you’d like to order US to UK, or UK to Europe, etc., but they may be able to arrange it for you via phone. Gratefully he remembered his pleases and thank yous, even if he did hang up before waiting for me to reply after I asked to cancel my (time consuming) phone line order until a later date. ![]() You have to call the customer service number to use a gift certificate/coupon, and the customer service staff member I spoke with frankly sounded half-asleep and very blunt. Hopefully they’ll modernise the website (e.g., easier voucher use) in the near future. I’m glad they’ve expanded into physical stores and more mainstream online platforms over the last few years, but they still seem over-reliant on phone lines and traditional catalog shopping. Product quality is usually high, but in the USA their website and processes are very outdated. I’ve been shopping with The Noble Collection for years from both the UK and USA. Otherwise, in summary, I would 100% recommend shopping with Noble Collection (and I’m referring to the UK site). One other reason I would take away a star (or maybe call it 4.5 stars if I could), is because a number of items are frequently out of stock there is not much communication in terms of things like when to expect stock (which would be helpful). The *only* reason why I haven’t given them 5 stars is because the Firebolt did not come with instructions - it would have been super helpful to have even just a small 1 pager, explaining putting the Firebolt together and the mount. I recently got a Harry Potter Firebolt replica - and I love it! It’s fab and just looks amazing! Came promptly and well packaged too. If I’ve ever had issues - which there haven’t been many of - customer service has always been perfect and helpful. I have purchased many items from the Noble Collection, and I would say it has always been a smooth process with the items being of a great quality. Frequent shopper with NC and highly recommend
